Flight Training Evenings

Flight Training Evenings

The introductory flight course evening is designed to help you get started in flying. You can join the course even if you have no prior flying experience.

The flight course lasts 15 minutes. During the course, participants learn the basic flying position, how to safely enter and exit the tunnel, and how to move in different directions, such as up, down, forward, and backward.

Schedule for the evening flight training sessions:

  • Saturday, September 12, 4:00–6:00 p.m.

  • Sat, Oct. 10, 4:00–6:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, November 14, 3:30–5:30 p.m.

  • Sat, Dec. 12, 3:00–5:00 p.m.

Price: 199€ per participant per session. Two spots available per session.

After completing the flight course, you can continue flying in flight school groups, at tunnel jam nights, and in workshops.

In Jame, each team session lasts at least 30 minutes, regardless of the number of participants. If there are more than 5 participants, the session length increases by 30 minutes.

An instructor is always on hand to offer flying tips, lead group exercises based on the theme, and ensure that everyone gets an equal chance to fly. The main goal of the sessions is to build team spirit and find flying partners of similar skill levels, so please choose session themes that match your skill level.

Flight School Groups

Flight School Groups

Flight training groups are groups that meet regularly and consist of pilots at the same skill level. The instructor plans group flight exercises for the group and helps them achieve the group’s learning objectives for the season.

There are 3 different skill levels for the flight school groups. Each group meets 4 times during the fall season. You can attend as many sessions as you like. Each session costs €50 and lasts 2 hours. Each session includes an initial briefing, flight time, and a final debriefing.

Groups and Requirements

Beginners

Prerequisite: Flight course (15 min) completed
Goals for the fall: To develop strong belly and back flying skills, and to learn the basics of head-up flying.
Duration: 2 hours per session

Timetable:

  • Fri, Sept. 25, 6:00–8:00 p.m.

  • Fri, Oct. 16, 7–9 p.m.

  • Fri, Nov. 6, 6:00–8:00 p.m.

  • Fri, Dec. 11, 6:00–8:00 p.m.

Skill requirements and content:

You can learn to fly stable on your stomach or the basics of back flying at slower speeds.

In this workshop, pilots who fly on their stomachs are taught the basics of back flying. For those who have already flown in the back position, there are additional exercises to improve their back flying skills and increase their speed.

You'll also get tips and ideas for practicing on your own or with a friend to prepare for later.

Back flying is the first step before learning to sit fly, so strong back-flying skills will help you progress! It’s a good idea to take this workshop before the back carve and head-up workshops. Welcome to the workshop!

o Requirements: smooth HU and the ability to fly HD in a 4-way formation. HD can also take off from the net if necessary.

o Requires a smooth HU and the ability to fly HD 4-way. HU-HD transition with assistance.

A limited number of slots are available and places are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The groups are organised. The organiser designs the appropriate flight plan for the group, helps and supports them to fly it and gives tips on how to fly it. However, it is not really a matter of coaching.

The workshop covers the basics of backflips. For those who have already performed backflips, there will be additional exercises, such as changing direction and increasing speed.

You'll also get tips and ideas for practicing on your own later on.

Backside carving will take you toward a smooth and dynamic ride. You'll gradually learn to carve at higher speeds and carry your carve all the way through to the turn. Welcome to the workshop!

The Parachuting Committee is organizing a day for skydiving instructors and students on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at Aeronautica! The program includes flight exercises for instructors and students to improve their prone flying skills, as well as lectures for each group. There is no participation fee for the event’s program, but wind tunnel flights, meals, and the evening program are at your own expense if you wish to participate in them.

Wind tunnel training

Instructors fly in small groups as part of a shared team. Flight exercises are planned together with the instructor based on the participants’ skill levels. The team fee is €299/hour, which is split among the participants.

Students can sign up for a flight course or basic flight skills training. In the flight courses, students practice basic maneuvers and learn the fundamentals of independent tunnel training.

This flight course is intended for those who have no prior tunnel experience or who have not yet completed the 15-minute flight course. Flight time: 15 minutes per participant; price: €199 per participant.

Students who have already completed the flight course can sign up for basic flight skills training. In this case, the cost per team is 299€/h, which is split among the participants.

Eating

Meals are at your own expense. Since we are a large group, a special meal has been arranged for us, and advance reservations are required.

Lunch: 16 € per person.

Dinner: 24 € per person.

Evening programme

After dinner, we have a VIP sauna, surf, and hot tub reserved as an evening activity. The price for this evening activity is 25 € per person. Please sign up using the registration form. (This activity will take place if there are enough participants.)

Accommodation

Price 19€/night/person. Accommodation includes breakfast.

In this workshop, you'll learn various tips and tricks.

1. Various balancing acts, such as the scales, the ninja, and various HU positions, such as the V-position and the split.
2. Various flips, such as a flip performed while running along a wall.
3. Tricks performed with a partner, such as the rodeo and surfing

In this workshop, you’ll learn some spectacular tricks! Take your flying to a whole new level—and, above all, have a blast—with this workshop! These tricks will teach you to control your body and make your flying skills more versatile.

The Parachute Committee is organising a day for skydiving instructors and students on Saturday 10.1.2026 at Aeronautica! The programme includes flight exercises for instructors and students to develop their belly flying skills, as well as lectures for each group. There is no entry fee for the event programme, but wind tunnel flights, meals and the evening programme will be paid for by the participants if they wish to attend.

Wind tunnel training

Instructors fly in small groups on a shared wing. Flight exercises are planned together

with a coach, according to the participants' level. The price of the team is 299€/h, which will be divided between the participants.

Students can sign up for a flying course or basic flying skills training. For students

flight courses are used to practice basic movements and learn the basics of independent tunnel training.

The flight course is intended for those who have no previous tunnel experience or for those who have not yet

have completed a 15-minute flight course. Flight time 15 min per participant, price 199€/participant.

Students who have already completed a flight course can enrol for basic flight training.

In this case, the price of the team is 299€/h, to be shared between the participants.

Eating

Meals are self-catered. As we are a large group, we have our own catering and

meals must be booked in advance.

Lunch 16 €/person. A rich salad buffet, meatballs in pepper and cream sauce, meze.

Dinner price 24 €/person. A rich salad buffet, oven-roasted chicken with mustard-

in honey sauce, warm potato salad and seasonal vegetables, with a crepe buffet for dessert.

Evening programme

After dinner, VIP sauna, surf and hot tub booked for evening activities. Price for this evening activity

Requires a smooth backbone. Knowledge of Sittis is useful, but not a mandatory requirement.

The workshop introduces you to a variety of easy but impressive tricks, such as different

pirouettes, spaghetti and balancing acts. A variety of tricks to teach you how to control your body

and make your flying skills more versatile. You'll also get tips and ideas for self-driving

training for later.

The back flight goes at higher speeds.

The workshop will go through the basics of gliding. For those who have already flown a paraglider, additional exercises for paragliding

to develop and increase speeds. You'll also get tips and ideas for self-help and

to practice with a friend for later.

Sittis is the first position in which you fly at high speeds. When you learn to fly the Sittis

at high speeds, you can start your snatch training. Sittis is an important basic flying skill, which

is needed for both dynamic and static vertical flight. Welcome to the workshop!

Skill requirements and content:

You should be able to fly on your back at slower wind speeds

The workshop will cover the basics of back carving. For those already familiar with back carving,

such as changing direction, and increasing speeds. You'll also get tips and ideas

for independent training for later.

Back carving is a step toward head down and dynamic flying. You’ll gradually learn to carve at

higher speeds and progress from carving all the way to head down flight. Welcome to the workshop!

Event content:
The kick-off kicks off the winter wind tunnel season with a joint gathering. The seminar
will provide information about the VFS and FS leagues and how to join the group
wind tunnel training.


The event is particularly suitable for beginners who are determined to become
wind tunnel pilots. You don't even need to have completed a flight course, as we will help you to complete the
flight course and start training. The event will group pilots of the same level
and introduce you to couts and contacts for help with training.

If you wish, you can fly with other participants and coaches at the event.

Participants in the flights share the cost of the team.

Markku's lecture on vertical and bigway jumping immediately after the flights. Topics include what to learn from the Finnish Uncle, upcoming enkas and how to prepare for them.

Requires smooth HU at standard power. Adjust flying according to skill level and e.g. HD can be net training, depending on skill level.

Higher power HU/HD group.
